Admissions Information
Nativity Prep has a rigorous and selective application process. We accept boys from the city of Boston into our 5th and 6th grades only. All applicants must be eligible for free or reduced lunch in the Boston Public Schools. We do not have teachers who are trained in teaching special needs students, so we do not encourage students who already receive special need services in their current school to apply. We accept students of all faiths and backgrounds.
Admissions Requirements:
- Applicants must live in the city of Boston
- Applicants must be entering the 5th or 6th grade
- Applicants must be from a low-income family (eligible for free or reduced lunch in the Boston Schools)
- Families must be dedicated to their child’s education
Admissions Procedures:
Beginning in January of each year, a parent or guardian of the student may begin the application process by picking up a packet which includes/requires:
- Filling out a pre-application
- Signing a transcript release form
- Completing a full application
- Touring the school
- Attending an Open House
A parent or guardian must pick up the application packet. Under no circumstances will an application packet be mailed. There is no need to make an appointment. A completed application, including all federal form 1040s from the student’s household must be submitted.
Interviews with the applicant and his parent(s)/guardian(s) and members of the Admissions committee take place in March and April. Prospective students visit the school for an entire day. An entrance exam may be required as part of the application process. Decision letters are sent in May.
